Self Portrait and Hair Dye

I always like to use my own photos for my posts on my personal blog.  So yesterdays post on Grey Hair was no exception.  As I was loading the picture to the post.  I was looking at all the pictures I took to get the picture I wanted for the blog.  I realized just how comfortable I have gotten with myself over the years.  Exposed and able to share. Who is going to judge and I don’t really care if they do.

So here are the outtakes..

I started to dye my hair in my ratty 10 year old maternity robe I wore when I had my son.. because it is comfy, long but not too long.  Plus I don’t care if I get dye on it..  My old glasses for the same reason, Dye.   Plus If I take my glasses off I cant see the camera because I am blind. I also get crazy eyes in pictures when I remove my glasses because I cant see..  The top picture.. told me I need to pluck.. Hello Crazy brows

so here are some of the shots I like them they are me..

So 1st shot

Happy but cut of my hair

wow I have a lot of dye on my ears

Lost the robe.. I might or might not have on a strapless dress.. trying to be sexy ..not working

I added earing and a ring it is about the glitter- blow a kiss

I could not stop laughing at myself..

because I can make funny faces

Back to the ratty robe with glitter..

Have I mentioned I love Forty it is awesome.. Be who you are.

Leave me a link  photo of yourself I would love to see it..

Matt Kearney Young Love

So I was asked to review Mat Kearney new album Young Love.   I am a very upbeat music listener. Don’t give me dark and gloom, I will have none of that.  I like Music that makes me smile.  Mat  Kearney’s new album is that.  He is a mature upbeat so I am not listening to teenie bob type music.

Hey Mama” makes you want to get up and dance and sway your arms a great driving are.

“Count on me” has a great choirs of kids singing back up which gives it a whimsical feel.

“She Got Honey” is a fun song with clapping and snaps what else what make a happy song .

This is the kind of album that makes you want to enjoy life.  I picture listening to Mat  small bar with an outside patio with great friends, where you can just dance with few people and it is all good.

Mat Kearney is on tour starting this month hitting 40 city.  So if you want to check him out live.  He is coming to Philadelphia so I hope I get to see him.

I know that I will enjoy Young Love for many years to come.

Disclosure: I received this album free of charge, but the opinions in this post are completely my own.

Gray Hair family trait

So women in my family go gray early.  I was told the earlier you go gray the better hair you have as you get older so, not as wiry.

My grandmother started going gray at 20 and was completely white by 40.  She embraced the white and wears a bob cut. Even at 92 she still has great longer hair.  She told me she could never wear it short in pin curls with a purple tint,  she will never be that old..

My mother she started going gray at an early age also.  She fought the battle and had ever color in the book.  Red, blond, and  brown.  My childhood photo album has a different women in every picture.  Sometimes I wish I had the guts to try many colors but I can’t bring myself to do it.  She is now white in a great thick bob cut.  I never got the thick hair.

My sister .. well lets say she was born brunette. I like her as a blond and she has the thick hair.

Me  mouse brown/gray..not I did not get the thick hair so much for genetics.

So this morning I am sitting with my daughter:

I have to dye my hair today

She says “why mommy?”

“to cover my gray”

her: “I don’t see gray”

wait for it..

Her “oh there it is.. I can see it”

I like her better when she was oblivious.. my satisfaction she will follow in my foot steps.  as I head up stair to make my grey /white hair .. a lovely shade of light brown/pink.
