Prom: It is about the Dress & Age Appropriate #Sponsored

Age appropriate prom dresses: It has been 25 years since my prom. I look back to those times, with a smile. I went with my boyfriend at the time Todd, who has turned out to be a dear friend over the years. I remember a couple things about that night mainly my dressfirst, my hair, and dancing. I loved my prom dress when that dress kicked open it was florescent green inside, don’t judge it was a sign of the times.

I also remember the one thing my teacher /chaperone about the night he said, “The whole night was filled with girls pulling up their dresses.” me included. For many girls this is will be 1st time they wear a strapless dress, but they are not really built for a strapless. So while dancing.. One raise your hands in the air and the dress don’t care .. AKA the dress slides down.

My advice after looking back.. wear some type of straps.

Submarine Kids Girls Fall 2013

I was recently provided by Submarine Kids some clothes to review for Fall 2013. The Designer contacted me and asked if I would like to review and give my honest opinion about their boutique clothes. As you may or may not know my background is in Fashion, I was a former fashion designer and I love clothes. For me having a daughter is awesome, because it is like have my own life size doll.. with a little attitude. So when Deborah at Submarine kids contacted me my daughter and I jumped at the chance to work with them.

Deborah sent me the hottest offering in their line this Fall. The Lips shirt and harem pants.The lips shirt is great. I love Submarine Kids fresh Rock star look- Loose and casual but edge. Submarine realizes that girls want to be fun and free but hip and stylish. This shirt offers both. The light weight slub yarn knit shirt, is light and airy so great for schools where the heat is either blasting at hot temperatures or cooler. This Shirt’s 3/4 length sleeve is great not to drag in those school art class projects. The neck is a boat neck so non constricting for those kids that don’t like tight necks.The Lip embellishment is printed on and the teeth detailed with sequins and bugle beads. This detail of the extra bugle bead is the high end difference between what you find on a boutique brand kids clothes vs a mas market retailer that does not take the care to do more detailed work. The harem style pants are Fantastic. Bring girls to a loose fit flowing fabric that allows for a girl to be fun and move. My daughter Loves these pants. The have pockets with a faux leather inset and stretch Faux leather waistband. Also a faux leather side panel is great detail, leading down to the cuff on the pants. I like these pants because there is room to grow a few inches because of the cuff. The Pant pant fabric is a silky knit so it feel great on my daughters skin. I would love a pair of these pants for me.

I have to say we really loved Submarine Kids clothes. They were fun and age appropriate for my daughter who is in 3rd grade and wants to grow up fast. I loved the quality and cant wait to see what this new band comes up with next. I love where they are going with the clothing line.

Skechers Shoe Review: Hydee Plus 2

Recently Skechers sent me a free Pair of Girls Hydee Plus 2 Sneakers for a review, the opinions are stated in this Post about Skechers Hydee Plus 2 sneakers are my own.

We received the sneakers in the mail and my daughter total flipped she put them on immediately and was so excited. I am not sure if you know this but as blogger we try to photography review items prior to use. So after telling my daughter to take them off.. (like 6) times because she did not want to part with the Skechers. She started looking through the box. There was a Hydee and the Hytops comic book included which she read from cover to cover. The even have a web series about the Hydee and the hytops.

But I digress.. The Skechers Hydee Plus s Sneaker are super fun they are fun spring colors. We received a grey, aqua, and hot pink. They Hydee Plus 2 also comes in a Pink and Natural Shoe. The sneakers also have a glittery fabric which is what attacked my daughter.. why girl does not love glitter. She also loves how easy

Skechers Hydee Have a secret in the heel they have a wedge. Making your girl taller. My daughter loves the fact she towers over everyone else. She also love the fact you cann’t see the wedge. The shoes make her feel empowered with height. Sizes start for age 6 and up.

Girls Like to build @MegaBloks #Barbie #MommyParties

My daughter and her friends got to experience Barbies Mega Bloks. The girls spent about 2 hours building the Barbie Mega Bloks house and the pool. They love also they decorated the house and pool with the stickers and all the accessories. They read and followed all the easy to understand instructions no parental help required.. which was a real bonus for me. Team work is what it took to build this dream house. The girls built it there way as team and dividing the process, there was complete cooperation from all involved int he Barbie Mega Bloks building process. A truly lovely afternoon.

The girls loved the Mega Bloks sets. I think they were prefect for the 7+ girls we had at our party. They like the building and the play. I love that Mega Block has other smaller sets in the $10 range so they make great birthday gifts.

I can recommend the Barbie Mega bloks my daughter loves it she has been run late to school every morning because she is playing with them. Great gift. Also I wanted to mention the blogs fit with other building systems. She has been building furniture and accessory for other full size Barbies.. so every toy in her room is in on the Barbie Mega Blok party.

Fashionable or Abuse : Pierced Earrings

Pierced Ears Fashion or Abuse for little girls.

I was 7 and my sister was 8, when we got our ears pierced together. We want to be like the other girls in our class and have pierced earrings I remember it clearly, we wait as the marker was placed on our ears, wiped with alcohol and the quick firing of the gun. Like a quick bee sting, then we had pierced ears that we were required to take care of. Such a moment in my life. My daughter has been asking when she can get earings and I told her when she is 8 years old we will do it for her birthday. Tradition and she under understands the care that is required.

So a friend of mine and I walk the mall several times a week. This morning we were to exposed to a very interesting sight. As we walk by “Claire’s” a well know place to get your ears done, A young child about 4years old was in the window. The father was physically restraining this little girl, as her ears were being done. She was screaming her head off. We slowed our pace and watched as this child was restrained and fearful screams escaped as her ears were done with the onlookers of the mother and younger sister watched. We looked at each other and said that was just not right. The more seasoned ladys walking behind us stopped and abuse was mentioned.

Now I have held my son down for a shot at the Dr. office. He was 9 it took me and 2 nurses to hold him for the shot that he need for his health. The nurses tried to make me feel better.. when they said he is nothing “you should see when the 13 year old boys won’t get a shot . It takes 5 nurses to hold them down”. I still felt terrible and pleaded with him to get the shot, because it was for his health. it was a parenting moment I will never forget. I also informed my husband he was taking him for shots from now on..

Ear piercing is not for health.

How does a 4 year old child understand her Daddy holding her down?

We saw the little girl later trailing behind her parents with a lollipop.

Is is possible she got one ear done and then freaked out? Then the restraint came so she got both ears done.

Here are photos of us using them at an event you have to pull the hair through the choxs, but the color is vibrant . We also use on my niece’s (High school girl) she said she would like some for Christmas.

The Monster High Tapeffiti about $6 My daughter loves these little tapes she decorates everything.

CHARM IT! Amazon or the shopcharm-it.com site I love CHARM IT! jewelry because you can add on. The charms run about $6-7 and they have every type of charm you can imagine. So you buy the bracelet as a gift them load the stocking up with charms. Like a cell Phone , soccer ball or Initial. I love the idea of getting sister charms.

The pig ones we have and they have little rubber boots.

Stickers and sticker books are back $1-5. Yes the ones we had as a kid. but now they make books that you can remove the sticker and trade.

Lip Balm Girls love lip balm .. any scent or flavor is always a win Pick up at walgreeen, cvs, anywhere.

Ear Muffs and animal hats roll them up and have Santa fit in stocking s this year. Animal hat are the new hot trend sweeping the playground this one is only $9- $40- I found these on amazon you can click on the picture to learn more.

One of my favorite stores to shop for the holiday “little stuff” is 5 below the have so much super fun great to.

Santa loves filling the stockings and finding little gift that will make the morning something special. PreTeen girls will love being a big girl while still being young.
